Little Rock is my birthplace and I spent the first four years of my life in various parts of Arkansas. To me, it will always be "home". I love the name of the bridge. It's very funny. And, the purpose of the bridge is wonderful. Linking people and places to one another, and encouraging the exploration of nature and exercise makes it a true thing of beauty. I hope to walk across it one day.

I JUST MOVED IN THE AREA FROM MISSOURI. MY LITTLE BROTHER AND SIS-IN-LAW INTRODUCED ME TO THE BIG DAM BRIDGE

AND AS I AM NORMALLY A "WALKER" I REALLY LOVE THE DAM BRIDGE. IT IS JUST LOVELY AND SUCH A UNIQUE ATTRACTION FOR OUR AREA. I HAVE NEVER KNOWN OF ANOTHER WALKING BRIDGE SUCH AS THIS ONE. THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING SUCH A WONDERFUL THING FOR "EVERYONE". SHIRL

I think the bikes are very unsafe on the bridge with pedestrians. There needs to be some alternative place for the bike riders for them only. They ride so fast and if you don't move quickly, they can and will run you over. Its very unsafe, especially when its pretty and there are lots of people walking on the bridge.

Both my fiance' and I are originally from New Orleans and we are both now living in Austin, TX. I had to move here from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and I have been in Austin just over a year now. We have a friend that lives in Little Rock and we went to visit her and her family. When we got there, we spent some great time with our friends' family, and they asked if we wanted to go to the Big Dam Bridge along with their young son. We agreed and we were amazed at the view (and also how cold and windy it was) from the top of the bridge. While at the top, we spent a while letting their little boy play and he wandered over to this gentleman who was walking his dog across the bridge. We walked over and a conversation started with the gentleman walking his dog. Come to find out, he was from New Orleans as well and had moved to Little Rock due to the storm as well. So instantly we had something in common with this gentleman and he also told us that the dog he was walking was rescued from New Orleans after the storm. He had adopted the dog after it went through the testing to make sure the temperament of the dog was sufficient to be put up for adoption. So while we were on the bridge, we met up with a gentleman from New Orleans, a dog from New Orleans and were able to hear anothers story all while on the Big Dam Bridge. It made us feel like it is a really small world. It was a great experience and next time we are in Little Rock, we will definitely go and visit it again. I have added some pictures of us on the bridge.

The bridge is beautiful! My family and I come to Arkansas to visit my grandparents a couple of times a year and we make it a point to walk the bridge on every visit with them. This bridge was a brillant idea and the opportunity to enjoy the scenery is a priviledge.
